{"id":2340,"date":"2022-11-07T13:31:21","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T13:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2022-11-07T13:31:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T13:31:26","slug":"greenwashing-is-the-main-concern-of-executives-at-top-companies-according-to-deloitte-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/en\/greenwashing-is-the-main-concern-of-executives-at-top-companies-according-to-deloitte-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenwashing is the Main Concern of Executives at Top Companies, According to Deloitte Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Executives are generally optimistic about the long-term benefits of investing in environmentally sustainable practices, but external economic and geopolitical factors are threatening corporate progress on climate and sustainability, according to a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/global\/en\/pages\/risk\/articles\/2022-climate-check-business-views-on-environmental-sustainability.html\" target=\"_blank\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-theme-palette-1-color\"><strong>new survey<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> released by multinational consulting firm <strong>Deloitte<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the new report titled &#8220;<strong>2022 Climate Check<\/strong>,&#8221; <strong>Deloitte<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Oxford Economics<\/strong>, <strong>surveyed 700 executives in 14 countries<\/strong> and across all major industry sectors, in companies with revenues ranging from $250 million to $10 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey, conducted on the eve of the <strong>COP27 <\/strong>climate change conference, examined the state of climate action from the perspective of business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report found that most executives were optimistic about the results of their sustainability initiatives, with <strong>87% of respondents saying that environmentally sustainable practices have long-term economic benefits<\/strong>, and 75% agreeing that their organizations can continue to grow as they reduce carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Deloitte-031122-b-1024x576.png\" alt=\"Deloitte\" class=\"wp-image-2332\" srcset=\"https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Deloitte-031122-b-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Deloitte-031122-b-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Deloitte-031122-b-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/investinlatam.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Deloitte-031122-b.png 1275w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Chart: Deloitte<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some numbers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many respondents indicated that the events of the past year will affect companies&#8217; sustainability initiatives, with nearly half (45%) reporting that the war in Ukraine and inflation have caused them to cut back on their climate and sustainability strategies over the next 12 months.
